Virtual Color Blast FAQ

  1. Why is the event Virtual this year? Due to the uncertainty of being able to host large gatherings and based on current NH state road race guidelines (as of Jan 2021), we are planning the Color Blast Fun Run virtually this year. Although the event will be different, we still expect many individuals, families and community members to participate virtually in a family friendly colorful event of their making.
  2. What is the color made of? Safety is our main priority! Our color powder was purchased from Color Blaze; their colors are made with high quality cornstarch and food dyes. All materials are 100% FD&C and/or D&C grade and approved by the US FDA.
  3. Does the powder stain clothing, hair, or skin? The colored powder washes out of most clothing, it can however stain some clothing. It is recommended that you wear 100% cotton clothing. With typical machine-washing with stain remover for tough stains, it should not stain. It is recommended that you remove all excess powder before applying water to your skin, hair or clothing, and normal washing should remove the color. If you are worried about your hair or skin, you can apply olive oil or coconut oil to those areas before the event.
  4. Is the powder harmful if you inhale it?  Although all the materials are food grade we do not recommend inhaling large quantities of color powder.  Anyone who has asthma, is allergic to any of the ingredients or has any respiratory issues should exercise caution when participating in color powder events.  It should also always be used in well ventilated outdoor space.
  5. Can I take pictures? OF COURSE! If you do use camera, phone, or electronic device, we recommend keeping it in a plastic bag to keep the colored powder out while you’re not taking pictures. Make sure you share your photographs with us by posting with #COLORBLAST2021 and tag Bedford PTG.
  6. Can I wear a costume? Heck YES…you can! Even though we won’t be all together we encourage wearing costumes or any rainbow gear you’d like. We welcome all the wild and wacky colorful fun we can get at this family event!
  7. Do I have to run? You set the distance, course and pace; get out for a run, jog, skip or walk and celebrate with a color party in your backyard (color packet included with registration). Be sure to be mindful of throwing color in your neighborhoods and local streets. DO NOT USE any public locations, parking lots, school tracks etc for your color throwing. Have fun and be sure to take lots of pictures! #COLORBLAST2021 to share your fun!
  8. Who does the event benefit? The Bedford PTG Color Blast is sponsored by many local businesses and the funds raised benefit the students and schools of the Bedford School District.
  9. Can I get a refund? No, unfortunately we cannot refund your registration.
