Color Blast FAQ

BedfordPTG-ColorRunLogo-Hori

  1. Is the run/walk hard? Not at all!! The Bedford PTG Color Blast is a family friendly fun run/walk where you can run, skip, or twirl your way through our 5 color stations. You will not be timed, so there is no pressure to hurry. Come get blasted with color powder at this great community event.
  2. What is the color made of? Safety is our main priority! Our color powder was purchased from Color Blaze; their color powder are made with high quality cornstarch, food dyes and baking soda. All materials are 100% FD&C and/or D&C approved.
  3. Does the powder stain clothing, hair, or skin? The colored powder washes out of most clothing, it can however stain some clothing. It is recommended that you wear 100% cotton clothing. With typical machine-washing with stain remover for tough stains, it should not stain. It is recommended that you remove all excess powder before applying water to your skin, hair or clothing, and normal washing should remove the color. If you are worried about your hair or skin, you can apply olive oil or coconut oil to those areas before the event.
  4. Is the powder harmful if you inhale it?  Although all the materials are food grade we do not recommend inhaling large quantities of color powder.  Anyone who has asthma, is allergic to any of the ingredients or has any respiratory issues should exercise caution when participating in color powder events.  It should also always be used in well ventilated outdoor space.
  5. Will there be bathrooms? Limited restrooms are available on campus at the snack shack (to the right of the bleachers).
  6. Where do I park? There will be limited parking on the RAL/BHS campus. When leaving campus parking areas please follow all directions, be patient, and watch out for any runners finishing the course!! IF you wish to avoid end of event traffic please park in the surrounding recreation field lots or at McKelvie Intermediate School.
  7. Can I bring with my pet? For the safety of our participates and animal friends, we ask that you leave your 4-legged friends at home.
  8. Can I hang out on the BHS TRACK & BLEACHERS? We ask that none of the registrants, volunteers, or spectators enter the track area or sit on the bleachers. The color WILL STAIN the track. To avoid this we are asking everyone to stay OFF!
  9. Can I take pictures? OF COURSE! If you do bring your camera, phone, or electronic device, we recommend keeping it in a plastic bag to keep the colored powder out. Make sure you share your photographs with us by posting with #COLORBLAST2024 and tag Bedford PTG!
